While staying healthy is everyone’s Nr 1 priority, one cannot overlook the effects of constant hand washing and using harsh sanitizers. There have been numerous studies on the subject and it is public knowledge that sanitizers have some serious side-effects (Read the full article here)
1. Alcohol poisoning
The quantities of alcohol present in a sanitizer is very high and some of it can be absorbed through the skin, which can be particularly dangerous to children.
2. Antibiotic resistance
The active ingredient Triclosan in hand sanitizers is responsible for developing antibiotic resisting bacteria. It also kills good bacteria that help in fighting diseases.
3. Hormonal disruption
Triclosan also causes antibiotic-resistant strain leading to hormonal fluctuations, which causes a disruption to the natural environment in the body, leading to infections and diseases.
4. Weaker immune system
Our immune systems reacts actively against diseases when disease causing bacteria or viruses attack the body. When we live in a sterile environment, our immune systems take a back seat because it perceives no threat, leading to a weaker response.
5. Adverse impact on skin
The alcohols most commonly used causes dehydration and in turn causes callous formations, flaky skin, wrinkles and cracks. This ages the skin drastically.
At Kukura Wellness Spa we’re determined to help reduce toxic footprint. We cannot do anything about the active ingredients in the sanitizers we’re being bombarded with, BUT we can help combat the signs of dehydration and ageing on your hands caused by it. Exfoliating and moisturizing your hands is key to beautiful soft skin and using fresh natural products produces even better results.
Follow our recipes and instructions below and you’ll be amazed and in love your smooth skin.
